Rajkumar Padam of Vijaynagar State was very eager to probe into the mysteries of the ways and devices to achieve his objects.
One day when he came to know that his parents were contemplating his marriage, he with his friend Polam boarded a plane and left Vijaynagar. One the way, he had to bring down his plane due to shortage of fuel. The place was mountainous and covered with tice and rich in natural scenery. While they were pondering over the problem of escape from the place, they heard the sound of some girls singing and soon spied some very beautiful girls singing and playing. Their costumes and faces clearly showed that they did not belong to the earth. One being questioned, Chandrika, the most beautiful amongst them, tld Padma in the language of dance that they belonged to the Moon, and had come down to earth to satisfy their curiosity about its people and that she herself was the Rajkumari. On hearing this, Padma presented a flower to Chandrika as a token of his love, but Chandrika refused to accept it saying that mortal humans cannot reach the Moon and marry girls from there. Chandrika flashed a smile at him as she boarded a flying saucer and disappeared with her Sahelies. In the meanwhile, Polam had also got interested in one of Chandrika's Sahelies, Gulguli.
Padam and Polam managed to get help and they reached their State. Padam urged his parents to allow him to go over to the Moon. Seeing his determination, they had no other alternative but to agree to his wishes, thus a rocket was ordered and soon Padam and Polam were flying towards the Moon. After some adventures, the pair landed on the Moon, but before they could contact Chandrika, they were arrested and taken to the King Adhiraj. Adhiraj was enraged to find two human beings form the earth and ordered them to be annihilated and thrown back to the earth. Chandrika, however, protested against this order and said that it would be a beastly act devoid of all human feelings and would defame the kingdom of the Moon. She suggested that they should be allowed to study their art and science. Adhiraj liked the idea. He allowed Padam and Polam to be his guests for two days.
Padam and Polam were surprised and overwhelmed to see some of the wonderful scientific inventions and achievements of the people of the Moon. Though Padam was completely engrossed in studying the various scientific inventions, he could not but think about Chandrika. After going through any obstacles, he managed to meet her and was successful in persuading her to go with him to earth. Thus Padam, Chandrika, Polam and Gulguli boarded the rocket and took to flight. But they were immediately chased and apprehended by the king's men. Adhiraj ordered Padam and Polam to be killed.
But Chandrika claimed that her love was true and pure and suggested that she be allowed to dance before the Shakti Devta to prove her claim.
